I like eco-friendly things, living life by the daily thrill, learning and trying new things (which is why I started this blog), and spending time with my friends and family.

Yesterday was Carlos' 2nd birthday!  This is very exciting to us because we were told Carlos most likely wouldn't last past his 1st.  The vet thought that he may have FIP, a very disturbing disease that kills cats, and one of his brothers died from this at about 5 months old.  But not our Carl!  He just keeps keepin' on!  I made him cupcakes, devil's food cake...how fitting.  He got to lick the frosting.  I'll be taking the rest of them to work so Justin and I don't eat them!!!
Justin and I spent the day together the other day, we never have the same days off so it was a nice surprise!!  We did some Summer clothes shopping, BBQ'd in the backyard, laid outside, did lawn work, and took Vinster to the pet store.  He picked out this ginormous fish stuffed toy, and now he won't stop playing with it.  It's about the size of him!
Last night we went to my work's store party.  I found out that if I have enough to drink, I will sing karaoke.  I sang: Poker face, If you wanna be my lover, ice ice baby, and I'm pretty sure there was one more but I can't remember it.  And no, I didn't do it alone, I dragged people up there with me.  But lesson learned, i don't do karaoke!!!!!!
But that's all I can fill you in one now, Carlos is trying to get into something he shouldn't be, so until next time....!!!!!

Finally Spring...

Whoo hoo for Springtime!!!
I finally got around to planting our garden.  I planted a bunch of peppers, tomotoes...including Heirlooms which i'm super excited about, cantaloupes, strawberries, zucchini, raspberries, yellow squash...and i think that's it.  But my fingers are crossed that these actually do grow...if they do, expect some amazing cooking this summer!!!  After all my outdoor work, I took a nice long nap with Vinny and Lexi (my mom's dog who we're watching for the weekend).
During my nap, I had one crazy dream.  If you ask Justin, he'll say all my dreams are basically crazy.  But i'll tell you it anyways.
In my dream- I went to work with no shoes on.  I weather was terrible so I went to my locker only to discover my spare shoes weren't there.  So I decided I better buy some new ones.  While buying my shoes, a tornado was coming.  I hurried and made my purchase and then I called to Vinny.  Vinny?  Why Vinny was a my work I don't know, but what made it even weirder is that he looked like a Great Dane.  and then I woke up.  Super strange but I thought I'd share.
Moving along on my day.  I was going to buy a small fence to put around our garden to keep the Vinster out.  But I got lazy and started to watch Valentine's Day.  Super cute movie.  But it made me realize that Taylor Swift cannot act...beautiful singer, but acting is not her forte.  And I realized who Carlos would sound like if he could actually spoke...George Lopez.
Am I the only one who thinks of things like this?  Does anyone else ever wonder what their pets would sound like if they actually spoke?
Remy- she would sound like a Southern Belle.  Mainly because her name is Remy Lee and I feel like that is Southern itself.
Carlos- George Lopez without a doubt.  or that ugly Mexican guy from Waiting...Luis something....
Vinny- Surfer guy all the way.  I picture a little Zack Morris mixed with Hawaiian.  And alot of 'dudes' thrown in his mix.
What about anyone else?  I can't be the only one who comes up with these ideas.

And now, I'm enjoying a few Martinis and movies with my husband...perfect.  And watching Vinny try to hump Lexi over and over again...apparently he thinks his date night too.

Hoping everyone else enjoyed their Friday!!!
Until next time...don't judge, be curious!!!

A little more about me...

Most of this blog is going to relate to the following loves :

Remy Lee and Carlos Agua: Remy is a little girl who we adopted before we moved in together, she just turned two.  She is your typical cat with a bad attitude.  You can just see it in her face, she was our guard before we got a dog.  Carlos is not your typical cat.  While he is super curious about everything, he gets into everything, eats anything, and does things no cat is actually supposed to do.  He is such a lover, but a hellian at the same time.  Most of our entertaining stories come from him, but how can they not!  Both are the cutest Tabby's eva!  And no, although they look alike, they are not related!!!
Carlos - ready for his next adventure

Remy- ready to punish Carlos for his actions

Vinny Patrick: is our 6 month old Beagle-Bassett Hound pup.  I did not want a dog, at all.  But Justin was dying for one.  I was sneaking around on PetFinder.com (which is where you should go to adopt before purchasing at a store!!!!) for about a month, before I found "Sonny".  I died.  I had to have him.  The cutest-chub face ever.  Shortest legs on a dog I've ever seen.  I showed Justin his picture and I said "Friday"...we adopted him on Friday.  And I'm not going to lie.  I don't think I could love this dog anymore than I already do.

Vinny- with those stubby legs...love!

our first date was a Wings game...this isn't of that game, but like 6 years later!!!
Justin (my husband for almost a year now...but we've been together for over 8 years.)  There's always something throughout the day that he has to call me from work to tell me about.  And lately, it's Geese.  Canadian Geese at that.

At least you'll have an idea of who I'm talking about now!  And I love pictures, so be ready for plenty of those as well!!!

Enjoy

So I thought I'd give this a try

So many interesting things happen in life, what we like to call the 'daily thrill'.  Around the Gordon house, there's always something.  And since we are the only ones who know about them, I thought I'd start a blog to give everyone the laughs that we tend to get.  Share our stories for a smile and sometimes maybe a tear.  But if you're having a down day, hopefully something I write can make you smile.  Even if it's just for a second.

Since I didn't have this blog a few days ago, I'll just tell you one story and then you'll know what our 'daily thrills' are like.  And what you have to look forward to...
A week ago I get a phone call from my mom at work.  She sounds upset and saids "i don't know how to tell you this...", I immediately think something happened to one of our 'kids' (pictured below).  She continues on and said "your kitchen...it's flooded. There's about 2-3 inches of water.  I don't know what to do..."  She continues to tell me she's putting towels down and she must've carried out 10 buckets of water.  (to fill you in, Vinny is just a little guy so she runs over to our house on her lunch break to let him out).  Now, I'm wondering what the hell happened?!  She said that when she arrived, our faucet was on.  Our faucet was on!?  What the hell?!  I know the faucet was off when I left, I never used that sink and when I made coffee, I know it was off.  As I'm explaining this to her, she saids "Carlos thinks he's Jesus...he's walking on the water".  Click...light goes on in my head. Carlos!!!!  If you don't know Carl, he loooooves water.  To the point where it's disturbing that a cat enjoys water this much.  But he has gotten in our sink countless times, to lick it, to stand in it, and walk under the running water while I do dishes...he did it.  He must've turned the faucet on.  He's rubbed his face on the handle of it before and he must've just done it hard enough.  My mom checked for broken pipes, leaks, etc...nothing.  Just a running faucet...done by our cat from Hell.  As I'm cleaning it up, he's lying in the puddles, splashing around.  Only to leave me guessing it's him even more.
So after a few hours of wiping up water, I have a very clean floor and an interesting story to tell.  Luckily, there was no damage, the water didn't even make it to the living room.  Just throughout the kitchen, the cabinets, and worked its' way down to the basement.  But still, no damage.  And good thing we don't have the touch to turn on faucet...our this really would be a daily thrill!!!

I have so many stories about Carlos Agua (yes, his middle name in Spanish is water...because when he was a kitten, he got into the shower with me and stayed there.  Never flintched or ran away.) and there will be plenty to tell.  But for right now...I leave you with that story.  If anyone else has a crazy cat like us, please share your tail (hahaha) with me!!!

Until next time...don't judge, be curious!
